Read MoreCamranger to the Rescue!
I was in beautiful Cambridge yesterday for a Real Estate client... shooting some interiors, exteriors and some surroundings for a new area guide. The client wanted a shot to show the view potential house holders would get out of their bedroom windows .... but before there were any bedroom windows to shoot from .... !? The other problem was that I needed to make it a panoramic shot!.... Zoiks.... what to do? I was originally thinking of using a drone to get the height, but I couldn't then do a pano, nor could I bracket as dusk came down! ?
Camranger and a BIG light stand to the rescue!! My trustee D800 mounted straight onto the light stand thread, camranger attached and up she went! The other thing I was quite amazed about was the range from my ipad to the Camranger!!! .... as you can see here.... it will trigger very far away ... next time I do a job like this, i'll do it from my car in the carpark!! Warmer! :-)

BBBA Awards 2016 Photography at 5 Aldermanbury Square
I shot the BBBA awards last night at 5 Aldermanbury Square, London. I always love doing Events Photography in London, as its usually in a great venue! This was no exception. The views from the 17th Floor across London were beautiful!! Few images here for you
Tankus The Henge, Scala Club
“Bigger, Brighter, Bolder than ever... Its full steam ahead for the Tankus boys.”
I've been crazy busy with commercial work for the last 3 months ... so it was a welcome change to see my old (but young!) friends ... Tankus The Henge last night at The Scala. They were headlining the gig with a new line up, new tunes and a different sound ...!?
I've photographed these lovely lads for a few years now and have become a massive fan of their music and themselves! Top lads, massively talented, and more energy than a nuclear reactor on meltdown! I was apprehensive to hear the new tunes, with new members and new sound, but these thoughts were swiftly blown away within the first minute of them kicking off!
All I can say is ... if these boys are playing near you anytime soon ... GO SEE THEM!! Check out their site here for dates!
Corporate Portraits
A few shots from a recent Corporate Portrait shoot. Faded and muted colours seem to be the order of the day lately .... i quite like it myself too! These were shot in the clients offices as they didn't want plain backgrounds etc...
Our outdoor set-up for Community Playthings Product Photography
Catalogue Shoot for Community Playthings
So, it was off down to East Sussex again to see the lovely people of Community Playthings to shoot some more Product Photography. These clever and lovely people make the best kids play furniture in the land... and I then get to photograph it! :)
We needed to shoot a new range of building blocks they have developed that can be used indoors or outside. Although I was told they can be used in the rain, I was hoping to get some sunshine to show them at their best, as Soggy kids aren't a good look either! ;)
For this shoot I needed warm sunlight so the images will sit nicely with other shots produced by Community Playthings American counterparts - shot in Florida. Although we are in July, this is Great Britain we are talking about... I needed guaranteed good light!? So I hired x2 of the new Elinchrom ELB400 Quadras (from the lovely people at The Flash Centre - London) along with a couple of 'California Sunbounce' reflectors to work alongside my own x2 Quadras. I have always loved the Quadras... small, light, powerful enough to balance in daylight. As you can see from the set-up shot, they provide a lovely kick of light to the background foliage as well as giving the kids a 'rim' light to make them stand out a tad more!

Out and about in beautiful Cambridge for Hill Residential
“Good enough for a Duchess”
I just received a copy of the brochure for the new Vesta Development I worked on over the summer for my lovely clients 'Hill Residential'. Fortunately for me, Hill do some lovely work in lovely places, so this job took me for a 2 day shoot around the wonderful City of Cambridge. I love doing area guide photography... its a chance to see a place for from all angles and tell its story.
